The Zeus 6-Channel Power Box: A Review

The Zeus Six-Channel Power Box

The Zeus Six-Channel Power Box

For anyone who has caught the electrosex fever, it’s an idea that’s almost irresistible: a single, centralized power box that will allow you to hook six different toys up to your buzzing victim.  Six!  One, in the pussy; two, in the ass; three, on the clit; four and five, on the nipples; and six, let’s say, across the butt cheeks.

That’s the image that was in my head when I bought the Zeus 6-Channel Power Box.

Most e-stim power boxes only have two channels. Would you need three of them in order to get something that functions like a Zeus 6-Channel Power Box? No, you wouldn’t.  The Zeus power box doesn’t actually have six channels; it has two channels, just like Folsom, PES, and ErosTek units. Channel B is split in five. The five outputs on Channel B are always going to be set at the same intensity, running the same pattern. You could accomplish this on a normal unit with a couple of audio splitters; they usually sell for about 79 cents.

Suppose you have an electrified butt plug on Channel B, and an electrified clit toy on Channel C.  The electrical current might feel too strong on the clit, and too weak in the ass; but Channel B is actually the same channel as Channel C, so if you turn one up, you turn them both up.  Either you wind up with a bored ass or a fried clit.

The Zeus has two channels, not six, but the two channels aren’t isolated, so they aren’t ever safe above the waist.  Not ever.

The box is also very weak. Hook up toys to two outputs and it’ll be okay, but if you hook up all six outputs, it’ll be hard to feel anything.

The box is poorly designed.  An annoying chime plays if you turn it on, unless all the settings are perfect. A timer has to be set to turn it on. When the timer runs out, everything turns off and the chime plays again.

It only has five built-in routines. None of the routines is well-designed. All of them will get boring very quickly.

At the beginning of this post, I said that I bought one. I thought about selling it for thirty dollars, but it felt unethical to ask that much for such a piece of crap. I wound up giving it away.

There are elements of the sex-toy industry that need to be shamed.  There are companies that prosper entirely on the ignorance of consumers.  This is a company that bought cheap, unreliable, none-too-safe “acupuncture machines” from China, stuck “Zeus” stickers on them, and charged folks ten times the wholesale price.

As we try to discover our bodies, and discover the bodies of our partners, as we explore the tabooed areas of our own sexual pleasure, we need to be aware that there are sellers out there looking to take advantage of us.  I plan to use this blog to steer people away from that.

Instead of the Zeus 6-Channel Power Box, KamaSutronics recommends the Cadillac of e-stim, the ErosTek 312.  The ET-312 is a powerful device; it comes with eighteen programs designed specifically for sexual uses; it can play music as electrical pulses, and you can generate your own programs via computer.  I have two of them, and they remain a favorite and an inspiration.

If the ET-312 is outside your price range, I’d recommend the Austin Medical Twin-Stim.  At $129, it carries a lot of value — and it’s currently on sale for $69. The AME Twin-Stim has two channels, like the best systems out there; it’s strong and it’s variable; it has a digital readout, so you can see what’s going on. The AME Twin-Stim is a better unit than ones that cost two and three hundred dollars, like the Folsom, PES, and the Zeus 6-Channel Scam.

If you love e-stim, you’ll want to upgrade eventually.  When it’s time to upgrade, only two units on the market are significantly better — the ErosTek 312 and the ErosTek 302R.  The Twin Stim will cut out the need for any intermediate units.  It can run two different toys at the same time, like an electrified dildo and butt plug, with two different intensities, so it’s better than buying two of the ninety dollar beginner units.

I have a PES for many years and visited the Zeus site then googled the same…arriving at your blog.
I felt something amiss for the lack of internal specs on the unit. A THANK YOU for providing a needed service to the many mislead by the hucksters. I am looking for something more stimulating
than the usual pes, folsom, etc. I read about stereo stim and realize the potential to ‘cook’ your insides using a probe/urethral cath (some reason I enjoy that combo feels most like an ejaculation,Puendal nerve involement maybe) back to my though…is there any safe method to use higher frequencies say 1khz to 20khz? I briefly 2-3min hook the inputs to a battery operated stereo playing music long enough to realize I enjoyed sensation the midrange to moderate bass felt really nice and I did not experiment onto the higher frequencies :-( I surmise you have already experimented, so, any additional info you pass along would be appreciated including any schematics you may possess. Years ago there was a multitude of homebrew/reverse engineered material. Thanks Again for providing useful info FOC .

I VERY new to this. I wanted to know if there was instructions by anyone. I just bought the twin stim (today) and am not sure what its compatible with and what else do I need to buy. zeuz or rimba attachments. Thank God I came across your blog before I bought anything as I am really intrigued by the e-sex aspects. You saved me some money and mistakes! I am starting off small, but want to get my wife the sparkplug and huse anal plug as budgets permit. You know kids and all are the eternal wallet suckers. Anyway, if you could point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.
    Thanks again! Matt
