My friend Kristi loved anal sex, and she loved electrical play.  She was terrified of the two together.  The image in her mind was having her ass jolted, screaming.

Half an hour later, she was face-down on my bed, gurgling happily.  The plug was smooth, and it had gone in warm and wet.  I watched the plug move in her butt. “This is so relaxing,” she said.

I’ve done a fairly thorough overview of electrified vaginal plugs, and I thought I’d review some anal electrodes.

In my experience, most women find anal electrodes with a classic butt-plug shape and two electrified strips up the side the most pleasurable.  Electricty moves from one strip to the other, tingling the sphincter along the way.  This causes the sphincter to contract.

If the electricity is turned low, and if the setting is smooth, this will essentially give a feeling of texture, as though there were something interesting to the surface of the plug.  Turn the current a little higher and the sphincter will contract around the plug.  If the plug has that curved, tapered shape of a classic butt plug, then your sphincter’s contractions will actually start to move the plug in and out, in and out, in time to the electrical pulses.   Kristi described this by saying, “it feels like I’m being fucked by a ghost.”

It’s up to you how high to turn things.  Yes, someone who wants to explore sadistic impulses, or masochistic ones, could turn the electricity high enough to force the anal muscles to clench.  Personally, I’m more interested in pleasure.  And anal electrodes can be incredibly pleasurable.

This was my first anal electrode.  I don’t recommend it.  The base is one pole, the tip is another.  When the two poles of an electrode are of different sizes, you’re going to feel the electricity more on the smaller of the two.  With this one, almost all the “juice” is going to come out of the tip.  In addition, it’s hard to remove.  Look at the way that’s shaped: a sphincter closing over that is going to have to re-open for that width, which doesn’t taper at all.

I know I’d trashed PES before, and with good reason, but their acrylic electrodes are interesting.  They’re smooth and well-shaped, available in a variety of sizes.  The transparency of them can create some strange or intimate moments; you can allow a partner to see inside you.  The only problem with them is that those strips aren’t made for wear-and-tear; between washing the electrode, storing it, carrying it to a friend’s place in a bag, it’s going to get banged around a little.  Those strips can get scratched, dented or bent, and each of these is going to affect the sensations it will give.

Rupert Huse took a different approach with his Electric Butt Plug.  Instead of the flimsy strips, he used solid steel.  This is easier to clean, and withstands more wear-and-tear.  Unfortunately, the plug is available in only one size, whereas PES’s acrylic plugs come from extra small to obscene.

My personal favorite electrified anal toys are the bipolar Electroflex plugs from PES.  These are silicone plugs, with two strips of a silicone/carbon compound.  They’re not as smooth as the acrylic or plastic-and-steel versions, so they don’t slide in as frictionlessly; but they are soft, and they bend to accommodate the shape of the passage.  With a hard acrylic in a woman’s ass, I feel a little uncomfortable doing other things, like sex, vaginal play, fucking machines, and so on.  With an Electroflex, I don’t feel so limited.  I remove the wire cores first.
